Recovery Point has added a solution for IBM mainframes to its Cloud-based backup and recovery portfolio. The Recovery as a Service (RaaS) solution eliminates physical tape-based restores as the primary method of application recovery, allowing transmission of mainframe data over the network without the need for channel extension, resulting in greatly improved RPOs and RTOs, versus physical tape based backup and recovery.
