(PSI), developer of System64TM Open Mainframe servers, announced today at the SHARE Technology conference that they have entered into a reseller agreement for PSI to sell Luminex’s Channel GatewaysT to mainframe customers.
PSI’s vision is to offer its customers true choices in the selection of new mainframe systems with a new level of control over their IT investments and ultimate flexibility in aligning their existing and future enterprise computing resources with changing business priorities and technologies. The Channel Gateway delivers virtual tape emulation for the z/OS, z/VM and z/VSE mainframe operating environments. The Channel Gateway presents NAS, Fibre Channel, iSCSI and SCSI storage solutions to the mainframe as 3480, 3490 and 3590 tape drives. Mainframe tape backup and recovery, storage management and data sharing applications work without modification with the Channel Gateway enabled storage.
